How Recommendation Rating is Calculated

RR (Recommendation Rating) is calculated by categorizing participants into three groups based on their responses:

Promoters (score 9-10): These are participants who gave a rating of 9 or 10, indicating high satisfaction and a high likelihood of recommending the product or service.

Passives (score 7-8): These are participants who gave a rating of 7 or 8, indicating moderate satisfaction and may or may not recommend the product or service.

Detractors (score 0-6): These are participants who gave a rating of 0 to 6, indicating low satisfaction and an unlikely likelihood of recommending the product or service.

The RR is then calculated by subtracting the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters, and the result is expressed as a single score ranging from -100 to +100. The formula for calculating RR is:

RR = Percentage of Promoters - Percentage of Detractors

For example, if 70% of customers are promoters and 15% are detractors, the RR would be calculated as:

RR = 70% - 15% = 55

An RR  score above 0 is generally considered positive, with higher scores indicating higher satisfaction and loyalty. RR can be used as a benchmark for tracking users satisfaction over time, comparing with industry averages, and identifying areas for improvement.
